It is certainly perhaps no surprise that when the fresh owners of this 1970s villa in Saint-Tropez enrolled interior designer Stéphanie Coutas to assist with its modernisation, on top of their wish checklist was obviously a desire to make multiple areas for socialising.
‘The setting can be beautiful with its striking ocean views, and my clients were enthusiastic to capitalise on that will, ’ states Stéphanie. ‘They wanted to bring character into the heart of the property by developing indoor plus outdoor spaces which are perfectly interconnected. ’
What especially struck Stéphanie when the girl first stopped at the two-storey villa, now one of the tour’s best houses , had been its relatively glitzy personal, a throw-back to the 1980s.
‘It involved the lot of chrome plus shiny handrails, ’ the girl says. ‘This was a good aspect that we needed in order to counteract plus balance by introducing natural tones and textures throughout. ’
